Milton Friedman (1912-2006) was a US economist. He is known for his work in the field of macroeconomics and was an advocate of laissez faire capitalism. In 1976, he received the Nobel Prize in Economics, for his work on monetary history and theory, consumption analysis and the complexity of stabilization policy.
