The Naked Communist – by W. Cleon Skousen Freedom is threatened today, both in the United States and in the rest of the world. Although this book was published many years ago, it is still relevant because the political forces that wishes to restrict the free market economy in our day uses parallel strategies. Those who wishes to introduce communism today uses a backdoor approach. The communists have just changed names over the years. But behind their new names, their intention is the same: to make the state take over God’s role in peoples lives and to destroy individual freedom. Whether they are socalled progressives or socialists etc., their intention and strategy is to undermine and destroy faith in God, to demonize individualism and freedom of expression and to increase state paternalism. Recommended by David O. McKay at the General Conference, Oct. 1959, p. 5. (Pdf).

The Law – by Frédéric Bastiat The Law was written by the French political economist, statesman and author Frédéric Bastiat (1801-1850). It was written more than 100 years ago, but because its truths are eternal, it will continue to be read. Bastiat wrote his book at the time of the French Revolution in 1848. It was a period where the French society was developing rapidly in a socialistic direction. Being a member of the Legislative Assembly, Bastiat studied the socialistic initiatives and explained why they were a mistake. He also explained that socialism inevitably will develop into communism. While being Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson often quoted Bastiat in his speeches. – Read it online: The Law
